Vietnam, Indo-Chinese Countries Boost Tourism Ties

Tourism officials of Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam recently met for the fifth Tourism Development Conference of Greater Mekong Sub-region (GMS) in Laos to review Asian Development Bank (ADB)-funded tourism development projects in the countries and map out measures to further develop tourism ties.
 
Delegates discussed proposals to develop tourism infrastructure in the three countries, including the conservation of dolphins in southern Laos and northern Cambodia and road upgrades in all three countries.
 
On this occasion, the Vietnamese delegation introduced the country's tourism training projects and plans for the development of the triangle tourism. The Vietnamese side also pledged to create favorable conditions for tourists from the two Indo-Chinese countries, wanting to visit Vietnam.
 
The next meeting will be held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, in September this year.
 
GMS comprises of six countries namely Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar and China.
 
In the first quarter this year, Vietnam welcomed 77,500 Cambodian and over 14,000 Laotian visitors. Vietnam & World Economy
