A delegation of four underage Vietnamese male athletes and their chosen family members on April 6 left Ho Chi Minh City for the Asian Schools Bowling Championship 2006 in Bangkok, Thailand.

This is the first time Vietnam has attended this international tournament. Saigon Superbowl sponsored the delegation. The Asian Schools Bowling Championship 2006 will begin on June 10, 2006. The championship is based on the law of the World Tenpin Bowling Association. Competition contents include Singles, Doubles, Team of Four, All Events and Master.

Vietnamese athletes were selected from the “Finding Young Bowling Talents” programme held by Saigon Superbowl in late 2005. These underage athletes will be well-trained to become successors of the Vietnamese Bowling team. Mr. Leon Lim, coach of the Vietnamese Bowling Team, led the delegation.

The participation in the Thailand event is also the preparatory step for Asian Schools Bowling Championship 2007, which will be organised at the Saigon Superbowl campus.
