To celebrate the Vietnam Entrepreneurs’ Day (October 13), Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) is going to grant the title “Outstanding businesspeople” for the first time mid October 2006 to directors of 100 top domestic enterprises from various economic sectors in Vietnam.

The move is aimed to encouraging Vietnamese businesses to raise their image and trademarks in the integration process and engage in social activities for the cause of national defense and construction. It also helps to tighten cooperation among domestic companies ahead of the WTO entry.

Nominees for the title should be heads of firms operating within the Vietnamese laws and obtaining remarkable performance in revenue, export turnover, profit, and contributions to the State Budget and technical innovations for the consecutive three years, said President of the VCCI Vu Tien Loc. Besides, they have to map out medium-and long-term strategies for development.

The final assessment will be given by leaders from the Government Office, the Central Emulation and Rewards Council, the VCCI, the Vietnam Labor Federation, the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the International Labor Organization (ILO), Radio the Voice of Vietnam, Vietnam Television, and other relevant ministries.
