Seminar on Developing Corporate Governance Models towards International Best Principles and Practices
Vietnam – European Union Business Forum (VEUBF), a joint initiative of Vietnam Chamber of Commerce & Industry (VCCI) and European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham), is going to organize a Seminar titled “Developing corporate governance models towards the international best principles and practices” on September 11, 2006 in at Hilton Hanoi Opera Hotel in Hanoi.
The seminar aims to support the Vietnamese enterprises, particularly to the commercial banks, who wish to have opportunities to understand and to discuss the challenges of corporate governance in Vietnam, and to share the views on internationally recognised principles and professional experiences on application of advanced corporate governance rules and standards.
The Seminar is solely designed for top management officers, such as board directors or executive managers. Speakers at the Seminar are leading international and national experts in corporate governance, including high ranking officers from governmental bodies as well as the Vietnamese and foreign executive managers of well-known corporations, who will surely bring valuable views and ideas to the Vietnamese enterprises in the process of developing the corporate governance models towards the international best principles and practices.
This important event is supported by the State Bank of Vietnam and the European Union Commission to Vietnam and financially co-sponsored by the Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank) and Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC).
The ultimate objective of the VEUBF is to create a mechanism to booster the economic, trade and investment relationships between Vietnam and the European Union through the bridging and networking both sides’ business communities and establishment of dialogue channels with the governments of the two parties concerned.
The Forum was first introduced on 22nd May 2006 in Hanoi with the witnesses of H.E Vu Khoan – Deputy Minister of the Vietnamese Government and H.E Markus Cornaro – Ambassador and Head of European Commission’s Delegation to Vietnam, Ambassadors of States of European Union in Vietnam, and other high ranking officers from the Vietnam governmental offices. One of the most important activities of the VEUBF is to organize seminars and workshops on the topics that will bring practical benefits to the business communities of the both sides in Vietnam.
