Businessman Spring Golf 2007 - More Opportunities for Business People

“Businessman Spring Golf 2007” – the first golf tournament in the South of Vietnam organised by Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), will take place at Vietnam Golf & Country Club on March 17, 2007 with the participation of 144 golfers.
 
According to Mr. Doan Duy Khuong, Vice Executive President of VCCI, following the great success of the annual Vietnam Businessman Golf Tournament hosted by VCCI for the first two consecutive years of 2005 and 2006, and some others, the event will offer a good opportunity for businessmen from all economic sectors to exchange views and experience during the international integration of Vietnam, especially to celebrate the first year of WTO membership of Vietnam.

The tournament will also partly enhance image of enterprises, effectively boost marketing strategies, and build up relationships between businesses in the process of international integration. Moreover, the sport event aims at helping business people keep fitness and partly contribute to the development of golf in Vietnam.
 
“This golf tournament is expected to be one of the most important, exciting sport events of the Vietnamese business community in the South every year,” said the VCCI Vice President.
 
The participants include leading business people in Vietnam in the fields of finance and banking, insurance, real estate, technology, automobile, construction, and leaders of ministries and organizations, and officials from foreign embassies in Vietnam. Golfers are divided into three groups: A, B, and Callaway, and have chances to win great prizes such as two-way business-class tickets to any destination in Europe from Qatar Airways, and Fiat car worth US$32,000 for the Hole-in-One winner sponsored by Mekong Auto.
 
Many organizations and enterprises have paid great attention, sponsored and supported to the tournament, including Qatar Airways, Vinamilk, Mekong Auto, and others.
 
With strong support of the business community, reputation of VCCI, the close cooperation of Masso Group, a professional event organizer, and technical support from Vietnam Golf & Country Club, the tournament will certainly create many new, interesting features for the participants, and be another annual event of the business community.

Qatar Airways, a strong, five-star aviation firm in the world, has just entered the Vietnamese market with the first flight on March 26, and is interested in sponsoring for the golf tournament with the aim of introducing Qatar Airways image to the market several weeks before its launch of flights in Vietnam.
 
Qatar Airways wishes to be one of the favorable carriers and play an important role in the active local market, and meet demands for trade development between Vietnam and Europe, Middle East and Africa.
 
In 2007, Qatar Airways will open an additional nine routes.

We appreciate the purposes of Businessman Spring Golf 2007. Apart from creating a playing field and meeting point between business people, diplomats and governmental officials, the tournament, held on the occasion of Vietnam’s admission to WTO, also aims to send a message to the Vietnamese business community: “Keeping on exchanging views and experience to day by day develop and fully integrate into the world economy.”

The memorial tournament for me was the APEC Business Advisory Council Golf Tournament – Vietnam 2006. It was great honour for me to receive the Champion Trophy from former Deputy Prime Minister Vu Khoan. I always welcome all golf tournaments organized by VCCI.
