Vietnam Hosts Int’l Conference on Hotel, Resort Management

Viet Hotel Solutions Joint Stock Co (Vietsolutions) on May 20 held an international conference on solutions to hotel and resort development and management in Vietnam.
 
The conference attracting many foreign and local tourism experts aims to help the Vietnamese tourism sector learn experience in hotel and resort management and development experiences from foreign countries.
 
Vietsolutions General Director Luong Thanh Nam said the solutions for Vietnamese hotels and resorts this year will focus on connecting global room booking system and daily information on webs, applying on-line room reservation on customers’ websites and setting up a Call-center network in different countries. 
 
Phan Duc Phan, vice chairman of Vietnam Tourism Association said, many tourism hotels and resorts in Vietnam are not environmentally-friendly, advising the country to build more hotel and resort associations to launch campaigns for luring visitors.
 
At the meeting, foreign participants also introduced ways to manage modern hotels, trend of new hotel development worldwide, the world’s top entertainment technology and many others.
 
The Vietnam Tourism Administration (VNAT) said that Vietnam is now home to some 8,500 hotels and guest houses totaling 180,000 rooms. Among those, only 261 have been ranked as conforming to three-to-five star standards.
 
Over the past five years, the number of international arrivals to Vietnam has increased, but only 30 per cent of the country’s three-five star accommodations are connected to the global room booking system. (Vietnam & World Economy, Young People)
