Foreign Arrivals to Enjoy Visa Fees Exemption
Foreign tourists to Vietnam will be exempted from visa fees from May 15 to September 30 this year under the “Impressive Vietnam” promotional program, said Vietnam National Administration of Vietnam’s (VNAT).
Visitors from every country in the world who register a tour included in the program will get the exemption, the VNAT said in a document issued on May 14.
Tourists can now be issued with visas at border gates or at Vietnam’s representative agencies overseas and will be offered a free-of-charge stamp (GRATIS), the VNAT said.
Those who come to Vietnam after September 30 or who want to stay longer in the country will be not given the fee exemption.
Only customers of international travel firms that are already join the “Impressive Vietnam” program and are advertising package tours at promotional prices receive the exemption, the VNAT said.
Under the program, Vietnam Airlines will continue offering discounts on 20 air routes and operate more domestic flights.
Vietnam has set target of welcoming five million foreign and 21.5 million local tourists this year despite negative impacts of the global economic slowdown, state media has said. (VoV)
