Vietnamese vegetables exporters can meet only half of the number of orders from all the corners in the world, according to the Vietnam fruit and Vegetable Association (Vinafruit).

Vinafruit said that its members cannot meet the orders and prices of veggies on the global market rebound sharply.

They have received a mountain of orders for concentrated fruits, vegetables puree, pineapple, lychi and other, Vinafruit said, adding frozen vegetables and potato are of high demand in Japan.

However, Vietnamese enterprises can provide only half of the orders due to the erratic weather this year.

In Jan-Nov, Vietnam exported US$388 million of vegetables and fruits, and expects to bag US$400 million from the shipments in 2009. (Laborer)
