Siemens Sponsors Automation Equipment to Four Universities in Vietnam
Siemens Vietnam’s Industrial Automation Division recently handed over the package of automation equipment to Can Tho University. This asserts Siemens’s strong commitment to supporting technical training in Vietnam. The other sponsoring grants will be given to Saigon Technology University, Viet Duc Centre affiliated to Ho Chi Minh City Technical Teachers Training University, and Nha Trang University. The total value of this project is US$$55,000. This sponsorship will help hundreds of engineering students to apply their theoretical knowledge to practice.
Since its official establishment in Vietnam in 1993, Siemens has been engaged in various channels of cooperation with Vietnamese universities and vocational institutions. For instance, in cooperation with German Academy Exchange Service (DAAD), Siemens awarded a number of scholarships “Asia 21st Century” to the best and brightest Vietnamese students of Hanoi University of Technologies. The company has also sponsored Siemens Automation Training Centre at Hanoi University of Technology and at Ho Chi Minh City Technical Training University. In April 2011, Siemens announced an in-kind software grant with a commercial value of US$71 million to the Higher Education Engineering Alliance Programme (HEEAP). In November 2012, Siemens sponsored demo equipment with a total value of US$22,000 to set up an European standardised training room at the Hanoi University of Industry (HAUI).
