Mr. Dao Quang Trinh, Director of Chau Giang Shoes Company and also Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic in Hai Phong, become the Champion of ABAC Golf tournament – Vietnam 2006 at Kings’ Island Golf course, Ha Tay province on November 13.
He was honorably presented the Champion Trophy from Mr. Vu Khoan, Senior Advisor to the Prime Minister and Former Deputy Prime Minister.
The tournament was the initiative of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) with the aim of offering good opportunities for entrepreneurs and members of APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) to exchange views, relax and partly contribute to the business development in Vietnam on the occasion of APEC Vietnam 2006 week from November 13 to 19.
The sport event lured more than 70 golfers who are ABAC members, V.I.Ps from Vietnam and business people from leading corporations and groups in Vietnam.
Mr. Hoang Van Dzung, VCCI First Vice President and ABAC Chairman 2006, stressed the special sport event would be a good chance to help Vietnamese enterprises build up business relations with large-scale groups and corporations in Asia-Pacific region.
Mr. Phisit Charoenphan, Senior Vice President & General Manager of Bangkok Bank PCL in Vietnam, the sole sponsor for the tournament, remarked that it was great honour for Bangkok Bank to sponsor for this event and the activity was also a clear evidence of Bangkok Bank’s commitment for long-term business in Vietnam
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Nga, Chairman & CEO of Kings’ Valley Corp., besides official meetings, business people find it very comfortable to seek new business cooperation relations on golf courses. Especially, she played with an ABAC Member coming from Australia and they agreed to further discuss on investment projects.
VCCI has been assigned by the Government of Vietnam to organize APEC CEO Summit and 4th Meeting of APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) on November 13-19, 2006 in Hanoi.
