During its 35-year history of construction and development, the National Oil Services Company of Vietnam Limited (OSC Vietnam) has reaped important achievements and asserted its leading role in tourism business and oil - gas services in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province in particular and in Vietnam in general. Never being satisfied with the well-established OSC Vietnam brand name, the leadership and the staff of the company are striving for more success.
Overcoming its early hard days, with the willpower and solidarity of all the staff, OSC Vietnam has maintained constant growth in both scale and scope of operations and diversified its business operations, with focus on tourism, oil - gas services, and construction - real estate. With its powerful resources and broad scale, OSC Vietnam continues to expand its business across the country.

In tourism business, OSC Vietnam utilises location advantages of hotels and villas situated along beautiful beaches and in the heart of Vung Tau City. OSC Vietnam’s main facilities include 10 hotels, one luxury condo complex, and 36 villas with nearly 1,000 bedrooms. Housing service revenue increased over 16 percent annually in the 2006 - 2010 period. OSC Vietnam’s Grand - Palace Hotel and Rex Hotel were awarded “the Top Ten 3-Star, 4-Star International Hotels in Vietnam” certificates by the Vietnam Tourism Association from 2008 to 2010. In travel business, OSC Vietnam is the first company to submit and have approved by the State a proposal for organising inbound travel and then outbound travel. Apart from organising overseas travel programmes for Vietnamese people and foreigners living and working in Vietnam, OSC Vietnam always focuses on tourism marketing and promotion to maintain its current markets and approach new ones.

Besides tourism business, developing oil and gas services is also an important political task of OSC Vietnam. Today, OSC Vietnam’s oil - gas services are chosen by foreign companies in Vietnam like BP, ROV and ONGC. The brand and reputation of OSC Vietnam are thus further boosted on international markets. In addition to living and logistics services for offshore drilling rigs and ships, OSC Vietnam also provides oil and gas technical services. Especially in 2011, Vietnam OSC established OSC Technical Services Company Ltd (OSC Tech), which supplies oil country tubular goods (OCTG) and technical services for the petroleum, marine and other industries.

In real estate - construction, OSC Vietnam has built and upgraded its facilities to better serve customers. Besides, the company restored and upgraded Hoa Binh Hotel owned by Hanoi Tourism Company, Minh Tam Guest House owned by the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Dalat City, and Thong Nhat Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City. It has also joined hands with domestic and foreign partners to carry out big projects in Vietnam like the 5-star hotel and apartment complex in Bai Truoc Centre in Vung Tau City, Indochina Star Hotel, and OSC Land condo complex. The company’s construction and real estate activities are diverse in types and prestigious in quality. OSC Vietnam has made steady progress in seeking tenders and using new technologies and materials.

Under the light of customer-centred and benefit-harmonised business philosophy and “prestige - cooperation - respect - dynamism" core values, OSC Vietnam not only improves its competitiveness and enhances business efficiency, but also makes significant contributions to tourism industry development in particular and economic development in general, in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province and throughout the country. Especially in 10 years from 2002 to 2011, the company served almost 2 million customers, earned total revenue of over VND7,500 billion - annual growth of nearly 15 percent, made a profit of nearly VND200 billion, invested nearly VND340 billion, and paid VND385 billion to the state budget. Speaking of OSC Vietnam's contributions to the development of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, Mr Ho Van Nien, Vice Chairman of Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial People’s Committee, said "OSC Vietnam is a long-standing business in the former Vung Tau - Con Dao Special Zone and the present-day Ba Ria - Vung Tau province. With its well-defined, effective strategic steps, OSC Vietnam has contributed significantly to the growth of tourism and petroleum industries of the country in general and of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province in particular."

With its business achievements in the past 35 years, OSC Vietnam is always a leader in social security activities and actively participates in pro-community development activities. It has taken care of 23 Vietnamese heroic mothers, presented 25 houses to people with great sacrifice to national liberation, built kindergartens, and presented gifts to wounded soldiers. OSC Vietnam General Director Thai Hong Cuong said “Significant social activities embody a sense of responsibility and enthusiasm of OSC Vietnam to the development of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province in particular and the country as a whole. This nice traditional culture of OSC Vietnam will continue to be developed in the future.”

In recognition of OSC Vietnam’s contributions to the country, the Party and the State have awarded 35 medals to OSC Vietnam and its staff, including three Independence Orders (First, Second and Third Classes), 32 Labour Orders and Victory Orders, and a plenty of certificates of merits from central agencies, associations and Ba Ria - Vung Tau province.

With innovative steps and sound development strategies, Vietnam OSC has gained continuous growth, confidently asserted its brand position on the market and importantly contributed to the development of Vietnamese tourism and oil - gas service industries. This is also a platform for OSC Vietnam to continue to work to become a leading brand name in Southeast Asia. To boost its name and position on the market economy, OSC Vietnam has adopted the development strategy for 2012-2020 period, with focus on three powerful pillars: tourism as the core foundation, oil and gas industry as a breakthrough business, and real estate business as value accumulator.
