Da NangCity to Receive 2 Mln Tourists in 2007

This is the target set in Da NangTourism Development Programme up to 2010 approved recently by Da NangPeople’s Committee. Of the amount, 800,000 international tourists and 1,200,000 domestic tourists are expected. The annual growth in the number of tourists for this period is planned at 27 per cent, while revenue is to increase 29 per cent annually.

 

To reach the target mentioned above, Da Nang has prepared several measures, among which the main measure is to upgrade infrastructure for tourism, such as tourist roads along the coast, Sontra peninsula and Bana and Nguhanhson regions; to quickly deploy the prepared tourism projects to put into service 2,445 additional rooms by 2010, for a total number of rooms to reach 6,000-7,000. In addition, the city will focus on sea tourism products such as scuba diving to see coral, race on sail boats, surfing and jetski racing.

 

In addition, river tourism, handicraft villages, and markets and entertainment for tourists will get big investments by the city for their development. Market promotions, advertising, organising great celebrations, making films and publishing tourism books will all be deployed promptly.
