The Mekong Delta province of Soc Trang will host the Vietnam 2nd Rice Festival in 2011, according to a recent announcement from the government’s office.
The second festival is aimed at honoring Vietnamese rice growers and boosting trade promotion for Vietnamese rice and farm produce.
Seminars to seek solutions to improve value of Vietnamese rice and rice products will also open during the festival, the announcement showed.
The Vietnam First Rice Festival, entitled with “For the development of agriculture, rural area and farmers”, took place in the Mekong Delta province of Hau Giang in Nov 2009. (Countryside Today)
