The 2nd Vietnam Rice Festival, under the theme “Vietnamese rice in the integration period”, will be held in the Mekong River province of Soc Trang from November 8-11, said the provincial People’s Committee in a press briefing on August 16.
The festival aims to promote the value of the water rice civilisation and the Vietnamese rice trademark in the world market.
The festival will boast nearly 1,000 kiosks with rice products for export, products made from rice, fertiliser and agricultural machinery.
Nearly 600 units have already registered for the event. Seventeen foreign countries have agreed to attend to the event, including, India, the Philippines, Russia, Ukraine, New Zealand and Germany.
The festival will have workshops to honour creative farmers, vote on outstanding export businesses and confirm the status of Vietnamese rice and the road for the development of one of the country’s most valuable products.
