VIB Forum's reporter held an interview with Mr Do Huu Le, Director of Tay Ninh Electricity Company, about the company’s achievements in recent years and targets in the near future.
How are you preparing for industrialisation and modernisation?
To meet the growing needs of the province, we will build three new 110KV transformer stations in Go Dau, Ben Cau and Trang Bang with Trang Bang station to be operated in 2004 and the rest in 2005. Tan Dinh - Trang Bang 220KV power line and Trang Bang 220/110KV station will be operational by years end. The capacity of Tay Ninh station will increase from 110/15(22)KV - 25MVA to (40+25)MVA and 2x40MVA in 2004. Tan Bien station 110/15(22)KV - 25MVA will be built and operating by early 2006.
How is the electrification of rural areas proceeding?
In 2003, electrification was carried out in Thanh Dien and Thanh Bac communes valued at VND9,531 million, and in Thanh Long and Suoi Da communes by AFD loan worth VND4,984 million. In 2004-2005, the plan will be implemented in four more communes (Binh Thanh, Thanh Duc, Cau Khoi, and Truong Dong) with a total value of VND17,488 million. So far, all communes have been connected with power lines.
What are your next objectives?
Our first priority is the stable, safe and adequate supply of power. In particular, we will ensure power supply to industrial zones, export processing zones, trade and urban centres.
Have you any requests or recommendations?
We need access to information contained in economic development plans especially for IZs, EPZs and open economic zones, in order to plan for the future electricity demand. We also need the assistance of related authorities in land clearance to ensure the construction of projects on schedule.
