The groundbreaking of the Social Housing Project at the Trung Minh A New Urban Area, with nearly 1,300 apartments, not only supports social welfare objectives but also strengthens Phu Tho Province's investment attraction ecosystem. As the supply of housing for workers expands, the province will further enhance its ability to attract businesses, promote industrial development, and support sustainable growth.

Phu Tho Province is paying close attention to social housing development to improve access to affordable housing, including for workers in industrial parks

Strengthening social infrastructure to attract investment

On June 30, Trung Minh New Urban Areas Company Limited held the groundbreaking ceremony for the Social Housing Project at the Trung Minh A New Urban Area in Hoa Binh Ward. The ceremony was attended by Vu Viet Van, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, together with representatives of provincial departments, local authorities, the investor, and the construction contractor.

The project covers an area of more than 6.2 hectares and includes 20 low-rise apartment buildings with approximately 1,289 units, along with integrated technical infrastructure, parking facilities, community centers, commercial service areas, and supporting facilities. In line with provincial policy, the project aims to develop a modern social housing area with prices affordable for residents, workers, and laborers, helping expand access to housing for low-income groups.

As Phu Tho accelerates investment attraction in industry, services, and urban development, demand for workforce housing continues to grow. The addition of nearly 1,300 apartments is expected to ease housing pressure and help workers commit to businesses over the long term.

This factor is also becoming increasingly important for investors when selecting project locations. Alongside transportation infrastructure, land availability, and workforce quality, housing for workers and laborers is emerging as a key indicator of the overall quality and readiness of the local investment environment.

Increasing local competitive advantage

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vu Viet Van acknowledged the efforts of the investor, government agencies, and local authorities in completing the legal procedures required to launch the project. Provincial leaders called on the investor to mobilize sufficient resources, ensure project quality and progress, and strictly comply with regulations on investment, construction, planning, land use, and environmental protection so that the project can be completed and put into operation as soon as possible.

Once completed, the project will add a substantial supply of social and rental housing, helping meet the housing needs of low-income residents, public employees, workers, and other groups facing housing difficulties. Beyond improving living conditions, the project will contribute to urban development, strengthen infrastructure connectivity, and create a modern and well-planned residential area.

Notably, this is the 19th social housing project launched in the province under the Government's Social Housing Development Program and the 11th since the establishment of the new Phu Tho Province following the administrative merger. It is also the first project in the area to be developed under the policy of promoting rental social housing in line with Party and Government directives. The model is expected to diversify the housing supply and provide additional options for workers, particularly those who are not yet able to purchase a home.

As competition among localities to attract investment intensifies, the synchronized development of economic and social infrastructure is increasingly seen as a key advantage. A stable living environment with affordable costs can help businesses recruit and retain workers more effectively, while enhancing the locality's appeal to new investment projects.

The continued implementation of social housing projects reflects Phu Tho's commitment to carrying out the Government's scheme on "Investing in the construction of at least 1 million social housing apartments for low-income earners and industrial park workers in the 2021-2030 period." Beyond their social welfare role, these projects help strengthen the local investment environment, enhance competitiveness, and create a foundation for sustainable economic growth in the next phase.
