Work Starts on US$60-MlnPort in Northern Vietnam

Le Quoc Ltd. Co. has just broke ground on a specialized port complex worth US$60 million in northern Haiphong city, Vietnam News Agency reported June 12.
 
The complex, built on an 11-hectare site in Thuy Nguyen district’s Nam Cau Kien Industrial Park, is designed to serve cargoes ships with big load.
 
The port complex, which will consist of roads, depots covering a 94,000 square meter area and a 7,000 square meters wharf system of 400 meters in length, is capable of handling 3,000-5,000 ton ships.
 
Construction on the port complex to be located near National Highways No. 5 and No. 10 and just 10 kilometers from Haiphong port is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2009. (VNA, Vietnam Economic Times)
