ADB Will Lend US$1 Bln to Vietnam to Build Expressway

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) will provide loans worth US$1.096 billion to Vietnam to construct a 6-lane expressway linking Hanoi and Lao Cai, said the government of Vietnam.
 
The fund will include US$896 million of commercial loans and US$200 million of soft loans
 
The expressway will cost US$1.216 billion, the government said.
 
The road will be developed into two phases with 245 kilometers to be built at a total cost of US$770 million in first stage and the remainder in the second phase after 2020.
 
The Ministry of Transport and Vietnam Expressway Corp will the project investors. (www.chinhphu.vn)
