1.8-Mln Ton/Yr Cement Plant under Construction in Central Vietnam

Nam Dong-Viet Song Long Cement Investment Joint Stock Company started construction of a cement plant with an annual capacity of 1.8 million tons in central Thua Thien Hue province on Mar 21.

The plant located in Thuong Quang commune, Nam Dong district has a total investment of VND3.7 trillion (US$218.9 million).

It is expected that the plant will start commercial production after 26-month construction, said Ho Van Tin, chairman of the company.

Nam Dong district boasts a huge reserve of limestone at 185 million tons, which is able to feed the plant for about 50 years. (Vietnam Economic Times)
