Vietnam and France will jointly hold the eighth meeting of the Vietnam-France Economic and Financial Forum with the focus on energy and climate change in the northern province of Quang Ninh early next month, the government of Vietnam said on its website.

Vietnam should pay due attention to sustainable energy development and responses to climate change, Christian Jacob chairman of the Commission on Sustainable Development and Territory Planning of the French Parliament told Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai at a recent meeting in Hanoi.

Vietnam’s energy demand is increasing rapidly while energy use is ineffective and uneconomical,” Mr. Jacob said.

France is willing to help Vietnam improve efficiency, develop clean energy sources and apply advanced standards in industrial production, he added. (chinhphu.vn)
