Credit Suisse Finances US$3B for Vietnam Since 2005

Credit Suisse has provided the Vietnamese government and enterprises with US$3 billion since 2005, according to a chief executive officer of the Swiss bank.
 
During the period, Credit Suisse helped Vietnam to issue bonds worth US$750 million in the foreign markets, said Kai Nargolwala, CEO of Asia-Pacific Ocean region of the bank.
 
The bank also lent US$600 million to Vietnam Shipbuilding Industry Group (Vinashin), he said, adding his bank is seeking capital for Vietnam Airlines and Vietnam National Coal-Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin).
 
The foreign bank plans to open representative offices in the Southeast Asian country, he added. (Investment)
