Rice prices are on the rise in Mekong Delta region as local exporting companies want to buy more.
On Oct 21, unhusked rice was offered at VND4,600 and VND4,800/kilo, the highest prices over the past one year.
Rice for processing 5% broken rice was traded at VND6,150/kilo, up VND150/kilo from a day earlier.
Nguyen Ngoc Nam, director of the Tien Giang Food Co. said rice exporting companies are selling 5% broken rice for $415 and $420/ton while prices of fragrant rice were $550/ton. (Youth)
