Vietnam Husbandry Industry Posts 7.5% Growth in 2009

Vietnam’s husbandry industry posted a considerable growth of between 7% and 7.5% in 2009, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
 
The MARD said that the industry has offered around 3.8 million tons of meat in 2009, up 8.9% from a year earlier.
 

This year, the country’s total pig number hit 28 million, up 1.3 million heads from 2008; 272 million of poultry, up 25 million heads while cow herd reached 6.8 million, up nearly 500,000 heads from previous year. (New Hanoi)
