Vietnam Airlines (VNA) will open a direct air route between Hanoi and Kaohsiung, Taiwan, on June 17. The national flag carrier will operate three flights per week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, using Airbus A321 aircraft. According to flight schedules, departure flights will take off in Hanoi at 18:00 and at Kaohsiung at 7:35 (local time). Each flight will take about two hours and 30 minutes.
VNA announced a promotional programme on the inauguration with pre-tax ticket prices available at just VND8.08 million (roughly US$385), representing a 30 percent discount, for 1,400 seats. The programme is valid for tickets booked from June 1 to 30 and used for flights from June 17 to July 17, 2011.
This is the fourth direct flight route from Vietnam to Taiwan, raising weekly flights to 28. It also raised VNA’s international routes to 46.
