Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh recently allowed the Vietnam Development Bank (VDB) to sign the letter of commitment regarding a US$1 billion credit loan with the US Export-Import Bank for a wind power programme in the Mekong Delta.
Accordingly, the US bank will fund wind power development programmes in the Mekong Delta in the 2011- 2015 period.
In a recent move, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung issued the Decision 37/2011/QD-TTg detailing preferential mechanisms for energy development. Accordingly, projects of this kind will enjoy credit, tax payment, and site clearance assistance.
