The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and the Hanoi People’s Committee discussed the construction of a wastewater treatment plant for the basin areas of the Nhue and Day rivers.
The project is part of an environment protection programme for the river basin areas by 2020 approved by the Prime Minister in 2008.
The plant, to be located at Duong Lieu Commune, Hoai Duc District, will treat wastewater discharged into Cau Nga canal with a daily capacity of 13,500 cubic metres.
Residents from Duong Lieu, Cat Que and Minh Khai communes in Hoai Duc District will benefit from the project.
To date, survey on socio-economic information at the localities, collecting information about the environment and calculating technical specification have been completed for the implementation of the project.
