Vietnam set the target to double to the current tea export turnover to around US $440 million by 2015.

Vietnamese tea is now available in 110 countries and territories, including Pakistan, Russia and China with the revenue of over US $10 million each.

In 2010, total area for tea cultivation was estimated at 129,400 hectares and 79% of the total output was shipped.

Last year, the total area dropped 2.8% against 2010 but the output increased 6.5% to reach 888,600 tons, earning nearly US $200 million.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development planned to increase cultivation area to 130,000 hectares over the next five years.
