The Government recently ratified development policies for several supporting industries. Accordingly, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province and Hai Phong City will be developed into supporting industry centres of the nation.
In light of this orientation, Ba Ria - Vung Tau has approved the Supporting Industry Development Plan through 2020, with consideration to 2025. Accordingly, supporting industries will be the basis for other industries, and links in the production chains of multinational corporations, of southern key economic zones, of the nation and of the region.
The Ba Ria - Vung Tau Supporting Industry Development Plan defines priority sectors and fields driven by specific orientations. Priority sectors include engineering - manufacturing, electricity - electronics, and chemicals. By 2015, the province hopes to increase production value of engineering - manufacturing supporting industries to 70 percent of all supporting industries by 2015.
