Construction of a US$450-million Vietnam-Laos project to process salt in Khammouan province in Laos will start in November, according to the Vietnam Chemical Group (Vinachem).
With a designed capacity of 320,000 tonnes a year after completion and 1 million tonnes by 2020, the project will help reduce fertiliser import and create many jobs in Laos.
