With 428 out of 461 of votes in favour at the 9th session meeting, the National Assembly adopted a resolution on building Long Thanh International Airport in Long Thanh district, Dong Nai province.
The resolution determines that Long Thanh International Airport is a key such facility of the country, and requests that it meet the 4F standard of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), and strives to become a regional hub for international air transit. As planned, the airport must be able to handle 100 million passengers and 5 million tonnes of cargo a year by its last phase.
