The Singapore - Da Nang Infrastructure Investment Forum 2016 is scheduled to be held in Da Nang in June to profile the city of Da Nang to Singapore based companies, with the recently announced 19 infrastructure projects that the city requires collaboration with international partners.
Vietnam has experienced profound changes that have transformed the country in the last two decades. The country’s transformation is marked by a shift in the focus of change to its cities, transitioning to a phase of rapid urbanisation that offers unique opportunities for the country’s development.
“The fundamental challenge for Vietnam is to improve the affordability and efficiency of infrastructure investment,” remarked Shanmuga Retnam of Asia Institute of City Management, based in Da Nang, Vietnam’s most liveable city.
The project focused forum jointly organised by Asia Institute of City Management and Da Nang’s leading industry bodies will focus on three key sectors: Public Infrastructure from residential development, transportation, economic zones to water treatment plants, Tourism Development from theme parks, hotels to MICE product development and Educational Services from capacity development, learning solutions to early childcare infrastructure.
The invitation-only forum from 23-24 June 2016 will comprise of contractors, infrastructure service providers, investors, consultants and local government officials. The organisers expect participants to interact and form collaborations to develop their business interest in Da Nang as the gateway to Vietnam. Building Construction Authority of Singapore, Singapore Business Federation, and Young Entrepreneur’s Association of Singapore plan to attend the forum to identify projects and local partners.
