Construction on Hanoi's First Golf Course Commences

The ground-breaking ceremony of the USUS$10 million-golf course will be kicked off tomorrow in the Minh Tri commune in Hanoi’s outlying district of Soc Son, marking the first of its kind in the capital city.

This is a joint venture project between the Japan-Vietnam Golf Development Co., Ltd. and the Vietnamese partner Newtatco.

The golf course is located in the Soc Son cultural and ecological site, one of the key attractions under the city’s plan to become Asia’s most popular destination, municipal authorities revealed.

As scheduled, the golf course will be put into operation by 2006.

Recently, an increasing number of foreign investors have showed their interests in building golf courses across the country with several licenses been granted so far.
