At the meeting, Chairwoman Bui Thi Suu said that during the last term, the Yen Bai Business Association excellently acted as a representative of the business community to gather, unite, connect and support businesses; worked as a bridge to link enterprises and authorities; collected recommendations, proposals and reflections; consulted, motivated and encouraged enterprises to deal with difficulties; and informed them of market trends and policies to businesses.

To date, the association comprises four sector-specific business associations and two local business associations with 168 member companies that regularly join its movements and activities and create stable better-paid jobs for workers.

The association's activities are maintained and developed. It connects local businesses and communicates guidelines and policies to enterprises in a timely manner.

Every year, the business community well fulfills its tax payment obligations and contributes over 60% to the total budget revenue. Typical examples include Thac Ba Hydropower Joint Stock Company, Yen Bai Power Company, Petrolimex Yen Bai Company, Hoa Binh Minh Group Joint Stock Company, Yen Bai Cement and Mineral Joint Stock Company, Yen Bai Forest Agricultural Products and Foodstuff Joint Stock Company and Viettel Yen Bai Branch. Enterprises employ over 22,000 workers, each with a monthly income of over VND9 million.

During the second term, the Yen Bai Business Association had many activities to advise and connect the government and businesses. Most notably, the district coordinated with the Office of the Provincial People's Committee and other departments and agencies to organize the “Business Coffee” Program where authorities and enterprises exchanged to find the best solutions. Through various programs, businesses and investors got answers and solutions to their difficulties and this helped form a favorable and open business environment.

Attending monthly and quarterly meetings with the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Committee and Business Coffee Program, many questions about land policy, administrative procedures and bank loans raised by enterprises were answered.

In particular, recommendations related to project revocation, project investment policy and land recovery were gathered and sent to provincial authorities by the association. Thus, authorities had another additional information channel for their decision-making processes.
