Da Nang Awakens Maritime Potential

Again, potential and attractiveness of Da Nang beaches are identified in the world map when a prestigious magazine Forber of the US selected Da Nang as one of the six most attractive beaches in the world. The exploitation of maritime tourism potential has become a natural option of the young city on the Han river. However, so far, these attractive beaches are considered to be just potential.

Da Nang city is located between the Hai Van Pass with high mountains and the Son Tra peninsula with beautiful beaches.

 

Despite having only 40 kilometres of coastline, Da Nang city has many famous beaches including Nam O, Xuan Thieu, Thanh Binh, Bac My An, My Khe and Non Nuoc, and tens of poetic beaches around the Son Tra peninsula, such as Tien Sa, BBá»i, Xep, Nam and Bac, which have joined each other to create a magnificent white sand bowl. Beaches in Da Nang have an average temperature of between 28 and 29 Celsius degrees, suitable for developing resort services. In particular, visitors can join water sports and activities, such as wave surfing and cuttlefish catching.

 

Therefore, it is no surprise when Goodman Marine International Overseas (G.M.I Overseas), professional boat racing organiser in the world, selected Da Nang as a place to host an international race in 2006. According to evaluation by G.M.I Overseas, Da Nang has beautiful and warm beaches, suitable for developing tourism services. From the foot of the Hai Van Pass, the Lien Chieu-Thuan Phuoc road was built, linking with many tourist attractions of Nam O, Xuan Thieu, Thanh Binh and Thuan Phuoc. Along the first section of the road around the Da Nang, a new urban area in the northwest has been planned to link with the tourist sites of Ba Na and Hoa Bac and Hai Van - Lang Co (in Thua Thien-Hue). In the final section, the city has invested VND 500 billion in building the Thuan Phuoc bridge cross the Han river, linking with the Son Tra peninsula and joining the tourist road Son Tra - Dien Ngoc - Hoi An. Accordingly, many tourist sites will be upgraded under the programme, such as Son Tra, My Khe, Bac My An and Non Nuoc. Da Nang has had a new corridor Hai Van - Lien Chieu - Thuan Phuoc -Son Tra- Hoi An to open up opportunities for developing tourism services.

 

However, these beautiful beaches have just been considered to be of great potential as they have not been exploited reasonably yet. Therefore, a new vision on Da Nang potential is needed to invest and exploit it more effectively.
