Authorities in Kien Giang Province are continuing to call investment of all economic sectors to build sea-encroaching urban zones in Rach Gia City, part of a plan to expand the space of Rach Gia City.
The sea-encroaching urban zones include the 151-ha Rach Soi urban zone (Hoa An Ward), which needs an investment of US$28-30 million; the 210-ha Vinh Quang urban zone (Vinh Quang Ward), costing US$44-50 million; and the 210-ha Rach Gia City expansion project in the second phase (Area IV and V), costing $32-35 million. Under the master plan, these urban zones will have synchronous infrastructure system: road system, green areas and public utilities like schools, medical centres, trading and service centres and residential zones. These projects will be carried out from now until 2012.
