Ba Om pond (or square pond): with an area of 19 hectares, by the side of Highway 53, 7 km South West of Tra Vinh town. The clear and placid water is surrounded by tall trees with protruding roots of bizarre shapes above the ground. Together with pure and fresh air all the year round, Ba Om pond has been recognized as historical and cultural relic since August 25, 1992.
Angkorette Pali pagoda (or Ang pagoda – a cultural relic):It is the oldest Khmer pagoda in Tra Vinh. The pagoda is under the canopy of tall trees in Ba Om pond, occupying an area of four hectares. The ancient and unique architecture is in full harmony with the natural environment.
The decoration bears strong influence of Khmer culture in close relations with that of India and Thailand. The roof is topped with Naga holy snake, symbol of eternal strength. Ang pagoda has been recognized as national cultural relic.
Ba Dong beach: The beach is 55 km from Tra Vinh town (Truong Long Hoa commune, Duyen Hai district). In early years, the French built a resort on the beach. Ba Dong sea retains the wilderness with white sand, clear water, pure air and peaceful sea.
Several projects have been built to develop tourism such as bridges of Long Tan, Kinh Xang and Bai Don, Lang Chim ferry landing, roads 81 and 913, power grid. Projects of sea-tourism have been developed by investors inside and outside the province. In the near future, it will be an attractive tourist centre of the Mekong Delta.
Ngheu (Oyster) dune: The dune is offshore of My Long coast by 10-minute boat ride. It emerges only at low tide. Tourists are attracted by fresh air and the elusive existence of the dune. It is rich in oysters. Tourists can simply pick up oysters themselves, cook and enjoy them in place.
Ok Om Bok festival: It is a moon ritual celebrated on 15th day of 12th month of Khmer calendar (equivalent to mid 10th month of Lunar Calendar). The celebration lasts for a week with official ceremony at Ba Om pond and traditional games and sports in other pagodas such as flying wind lanterns, floating water lantern, wrestling, tug-of-war, lamthol dance, cultural performances, boat race on the Long Binh river, drawing hundred thousands of visitors. Traditional Ngo boat race is also organized with participants from all parts of the Mekong Delta.
