Authorities in central Quang Ngai province have approved the VND267 billion project to establish irrigation works in Duc Pho district.
The work is part of Central Irrigational Work Project, for which investment mostly comes from Asian Development Bank loans. It will be carried out by the province’s service of Agriculture and Rural Development by the end of 2010.
Accordingly, the project will upgrade Dien Truong reservoir, building Chop Vung reservoir and many other works. Once operational, the project will help ensure sufficient water for 4,500ha of land for agricultural production and 450ha for aquaculture.
The construction will also contribute to poverty and hunger alleviation and improve local people’s living standard. (Vietnam Agriculture)
