60 years ago, on May 20, 1947, President Ho Chi Minh and the Vietnam Communist Party decided to establish Viet Bac ( 6 provinces of Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Lang Son, Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang and Ha Giang) as the base area for the August 1945 Revolution gaining back national independence and the victorious resistance war against the French colonialists. The Provisional Government of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam was founded in Viet Bac, the Resistance Capital of Vietnam. Viet Bac with hundreds of historical and revolutionary relics together picturesque landscapes and tourist sites, resorts and cultural diversities of ethnic nationalities are great potentials to be tapped. Therefore, the start-off ceremony in Thai Nguyen “is not only a breakthrough for Thai Nguyen tourism in the process of integration but also promotion of cooperation with other provinces”, Mr Thu added.
