The number of investors seeking business opportunities in central highlands Kon Tum province jumped in the first half of this year, showing the locality’s rosy prospect in investment attraction, said a provincial official on June 28.
As may as 80 investors arrived in the province during the period to explore the investment climate, aiming for projects in forestry, rubber, hydroelectric, tourism and trade sectors, he added.
The provincial People's Committee has approved 55 projects capitalized at VND3 trillion (US$204 million), including 14 in agriculture and forestry, 25 in manufacturing and 24 in hydroelectricity.
The largest project is a VND1 trillion project to build the Mang Den eco-tourist site with the participation of a group of investors.
The project will upgrade and build many services and facilities, resorts and rivers and streams within the Mang Den ecological tourism site in order to develop the area into a national tourism destination by 2010 under the Vietnam National Tourism Administration’s (VNAT) plan. (VNA)
