Commercial Counselor Conference 2008 to Open Hanoi

The commercial counselor conference 2008 will open February 20 in Hanoi with the participation of fifty-five Vietnamese commercial affairs abroad, Vietnam Ministry of Industry and Trade revealed at a press briefing Monday.
 
The event, slated to last till March 5, will include one main conference and three meetings between trade counselors and representatives of enterprises from North, Central and South Vietnam, deputy minister Nguyen Thanh Bien said.
 
Besides, trade counselors and local firms will join in some other special seminars to exchange information and discuss measures for production development and trade promotion, he noted.    
 
The trade agencies abroad have been assigned to be representative offices of the Ministry of Industry and Trade since August 2007 in order to facilitate and strengthen the country's trade activities outbound.
 
Bien said that the ministry will soon issue rules on functions and responsibilities related to new missions to stabilize these affairs' operation, contributing to the country's export growth.
 
Vietnam targets to gain export value of US$58.6 billion this year, an on year increase of 22 per cent. (VNA)
