Vietnam Jan-Apr Footwear Exports Down 10.8 per cent at US$1.24 Bln

Vietnam is estimated to have obtained US$1.24 billion from exporting footwear products in the first four months of this year, down 10.8 per cent on-year, said the General Statistic Office April 24.
 
In April, the footwear export value is estimated at US$300 million, up 7 per cent on-month.
 
In the month, the country is estimated to have spent US$200 million on importing materials for the apparel and footwear industries, up 13 per cent on-month, raising the total spending for apparel and footwear material imports in the first four months of 2009 to US$599 million, down 19.8 per cent on-year. (GSO April)
