Vietnam Power Output to Rise 7.83% to 93.38B in 2010: Ministry

The Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade forecast that the country’s total electricity out put would rise 7.83% from this year to 93.38 billion kWh of electricity in 2010.
 
Of the total, commercial electricity output will be 81.95 billion kWh, the ministry said.
 
Vietnam expects to operate 14 new major power plants with a combined capacity of 3,300 MW and a series of medium and small-sized hydropower plants with a total capacity of 350 MW to raise its total generation capacity to 16,000 MW by the end of next year. (Vietnam Economic Times)
