Vicem to Produce 18M-18.5M Tons of Cement in 2010

The Ministry of Construction has assigned Vietnam Cement Industry Corporation (Vicem) to produce between 18 million and 18.5 million tons of cement in 2010, up 6.76% from a year earlier.
 
Cement joint ventures and grinding stations will make between 15 million-15.5 million tons and 17 million-17.5 million tons, respectively this year.
 
Vietnam’s cement consumption will reach 50 million-51.5 million tons of cement in 2010, up 9.89%-13.18% from a year earlier, the MoC said.
 

Last year, Vietnam imported 3.4 million tons of clinker and used 45.5 million tons of cement, up 11.4% on-year. (VOV)
