The Da Nang International Fireworks Competition (DIFC 2010) is the second of its kind in Da Nang City but it has quickly become very attractive to domestic and international tourists. To date, travel services in Da Nang are busy with accommodating visitors far and wide.
According to the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the city has prepared 170 hotels with 5,000 rooms and 142 guest houses and motels with 1,109 rooms. Nearly 90 percent of hotels and motels in Da Nang have been booked. Hotels with favourable views to the firework contest site like those in Tran Hung Dao Street along the renowned Han River have been fully reserved. According to hotel receptionists at Mimosa and Italy Van hotels, rooms had been already booked for three months. Major hotels such as Bach Dang, Hoang Anh Gia Lai, Green Plaza and Gold Sea were also fully reserved for two major festival days, on March 27 and 28. Even mini hotels, lying quite far from the downtown, like Phuong Anh and The Moon are also in a similar situation.

To deal with the lack of vacancies while tourists still pour in, Viet Da Tourism Company is arranging homestay and tent-sleeping services for late-registering customers. According to estimates, the number of tourists will grow 50 percent from last year to 70,000-80,000. To meet this huge demand, in addition to rooms at Da Nang, visitors can stay at two neighbouring tourist sites of Hoi An and Lang Co, where there are 96 hotels with 3,700 rooms. Thus, local hotels can serve only 40,000 customers during the two festival days.

In addition to free view sites, this is the first year Da Nang will sell tickets on viewing stands. Each night, the city expects to sell 9,127 tickets on Stand A and 16,068 tickets on Stand B, at VND200,000 per ticket.

According to airlines, domestic flights to Da Nang on March 25 - 28 have been almost fully booked. Vietnam Airlines, the national flag carrier, said it planned to increase flights for tourists to the city, expected to be made public this week. According to Jetstar Pacific, there are only 30 available seats for night flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Da Nang on March 26 and 27. This route only has 50 seats on night flights while the daytime seats have already been fully booked.
