The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) recently organised a training course on information technology skills for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Thua Thien - Hue province, funded by Microsoft. The event drew the participation of many SMEs operating in cottage industries like bronze casting, forging, embroidery, handicraft, lacquer and conical hat in the province.

This is part of “Enhancing ICT Skills of Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in ASEAN” Project organised by VCCI with the support of ASEAN Foundation from 2012 to 2014 in four Southeast Asian nations of Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines and under the sponsorship of Microsoft Corporation, the world's leading software.

In Vietnam, the project aims to raise awareness and maximise ICT capabilities of young entrepreneurs in traditional industry villages through specially designed programmes.
