Bac Ninh province has been one of 10 most attractive destinations to foreign direct investment (FDI) in Vietnam for years. Samsung Group's two projects with a combined investment capital of US$6.5 billion account for a majority of the province's FDI capital. Both projects are located in Yen Phong Industrial Park, invested by Viglacera Corporation.
The industrial park has banks, post offices, warehouses, customs offices, petrol stations and other public utilities. Particularly, Viglacera Corporation developed 51-ha Yen Phong Urban Area close to the industrial park to provide accommodations for tens of thousands of workers to strengthen their attachment to tenants in the industrial park.
With the good investment and synchronous utility services that very few industrial parks have, Yen Phong Industrial Park is not only highly appreciated by partners and customers but also recognised by regulatory agencies and international organisations. Viglacera Corporation was presented the "International Property Awards" for Asia-Pacific in the category of Best Industrial Development - Vietnam and Yen Phong Industrial Park won the "High Quality Project Award 2014" from the Ministry of Construction.
About 20 South Korean companies are operating in the industrial park, including Samsung Electronics, Samsung Display, Orion, Ottogi, Flexcom, Dongsin, Mobase, Intop, Dawo Vina and Hansol. Thus, Yen Phong Industrial Park is considered the "destination of South Korean businesses".
Yen Phong Industrial Park covers a total area of 658 ha. 90 per cent of the first phase (344 ha) has been rented. The investor is carrying out the second phase (314 ha).
