Taiwan's Kingwhale to Build US$70Mln Factory in Hai Duong

PHI Ltd. Co, a branch of Taiwan-based Kingwhale Group, just received investment license from the People’s Committee of northern Hai Duong province to carry out a project in Dai An Industrial Park (IP).
 
The 30 ha plant, capitalized at US$70 million, is designed to produce high-quality clothes for export to key markets, namely Australia, Taiwan and Sweden.
 
The factory, with a total area of 30 ha, is slated to become operational by the end of this year.
 
At present, Hai Duong has seven IPs covering 1,500 hectares. It also plans to build 13 new IPs of 2,520ha from now to 2010, once approved by the Government.
 
The province is calling investment in the areas of western medicines, a power factory with an annual capacity of 100MW, motorbike and automobile spare part production, construction materials, steel ingot, electronics components and material production for footwear.
 
Hai Duong has to date attracted 120 foreign-invested projects valued at nearly $1.4 billion from 19 countries and territories, standing in the top ten foreign direct investment localities nationwide. (Youth)
