Transport Ministry Proposes Using US$1.3 Bln ODA for Danang-Quang Ngai Road

The Vietnamese Ministry of Transport has recommended the government of Vietnam use US$1.3 billion ODA funded by the World Bank and the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) to build 131 kilometers of highway linking Danang and Quang Ngai.
 
Of the sum, the WB will fund US$780 million, JBIC will finance US$330 million and the remainder will be contributed by the government of Vietnam as reciprocal capital. The ministry will be the project developer.
 
Currently, the WB said that it will provide US$80 million in soft loan and US$700 million in commercial loans. The four-lane highway will allow vehicle to travel at 100 kilometer/hour once it is operational. (Investment)
