Nha Trang sea city, which is the heart of central Khanh Hoa province, has been famous for land areas of natural beauty. The city is home to Nha Trang Bay, one of the most beautiful bays in the world.
It also boasts nice beaches, white sand and year-round mild sunshine. The locals are kind and hospitable. The special product here is sea and island tourism. Beautiful beaches with dozens of small and big islands give Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa a unique feature.

Over the past years, Khanh Hoa province has paid attention to developing tourism competition advantages by boosting tourism promotion and culture tourism development. Many national and international festivals and culture-tourism events, conferences were held in Nha Trang such as Consultative Group (CG) Meeting, APEC Finance Ministers Meeting, beauty contests, especially Miss Universe 2008. The tourism sector often organises tourism promotion campaigns, exhibitions and conferences in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Danang, Hue and some countries to promote the local tourism potentials. Most recently, the sector has joined hands with Vietnam Airlines to send hundreds of tourism partners in Japan and South Korea to Nha Trang to survey tourism products in the city in particular and Vietnam in general. This is a momentum to widely promote Khanh Hoa tourism potentials in the country and in the world. Nha Trang is emerging as an attractive destination which has an exciting tourism market and never witnesses a low season.

Many tourism companies have focused on building their trademarks and they have gained remarkable successes for the famous trademarks at home and abroad. Ana Mandara Resort owned by Khanh Hoa Trading & Investment Company is an outstanding example. Over the past few years, the international-standard resort has confirmed its position in Vietnam as well as over the world. Besides Ana Mandara, Nha Trang is also home to many other well-known brands like Vinpearl, Yasaka-Saigon-Nhatrang, Long Phu and Thap ba Hot Spring Centre. These gain high revenues and lots of prizes.

Despite ambitious efforts, Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa tourim potentials have not yet been fully tapped. The promotion activities abroad, especially in developed countries, are not professional. It is important for Khanh Hoa in particular and Vietnam as a whole to develop tourism brands at present to raise fame of the tourism sector in foreign countries. A tourism official in Khanh Hoa said ecological and island tourism is regarded as the city’s strength; however, it is not fully exploited. This is a barrier limiting the local tourism industry.

According to the provincial Department of Culture-Sports and Tourism, to build Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa trademark, the tourism sector should be well-prepared for Sea Festival 2009 and Miss World 2010 after successes of organising culture-sport events. The province will prioritise tourism promotion activities and participate in festivals, exhibitions and festivals inside and outside the country. Furthermore, the city’s tourism industry will also enhance cooperation with local and foreign partners to learn experience and attract technology and capital for its development on the global integration way.
