Nam Viet Corp. (NAVICO) has broke ground on a factory to produce ferrochrome in northern central Thanh Hoa province, 100 kilometers south of Hanoi.
The facility, to be located in Trieu Son district, will have total investment of VND1.5 trillion (US$88.75 million).
The first phase of the project is slated for completion in October this year with two fineries of 16,500 KVA each.
The following stages will be finished in 2011, raising the total number of fineries to six with a combined capacity of 109,000 KVA.
When operational, the Ferrochrome-Nam Viet plant will sell ferrochrome to alloy steel and stainless steel makers in Vietnam. (Investment)
